Tattoo Checklist
So you're all booked in! Hurray!
Please read through this so you can best prepare yourself for your appointment.
Watch out!
Avoid any blood thinners 48 hours before your appointment.
Such as:
Aspirin
Ibuprofen
Alcohol
Vitamin E
Fish oil
No sunbathing
Avoid sunbathing and tanning beds for at least a month before your appt!
Being very tanned or burned from sun exposure is very damaging to the skin. You cannot be safely tattooed on UV damaged skin.
Moisturise!
For a few weeks prior to your appointment, please moisturise the area to be tattooed. Keeping your skin healthy will mean it's easier to tattoo and will heal up well!
Don't moisturise on the day of your appointment!
Drink water + Eat
Hydration keeps your skin healthy which makes it better to tattoo.
DO eat well before your appointment. This is very important to keep your blood sugar from dropping and your body from going into shock.
Pregnant/ Breastfeeding?
We are very sorry but we cannot tattoo you at this time.
Please take time to enjoy your new little one and we will be here waiting for when you and baby are ready.
Wear appropriate clothing
Access to the tattoo placement is essential so please try and think about clothing that will be comfortable to wear but will keep out of the way of the tattoo process.
Shaving
Feel free to shave the placement where the tattoo will go, the day before your appointment.
Please do take care and try to avoid hurting yourself.
Sleep
Being tired, stressed or hungover will affect your ability to sit well for your appointment.
Put your health and wellbeing first and the tattoo process will be much easier for you.
Snacks
Snacks and sugary drinks are really helpful for keeping your body going. Please bring your fave things to snack on during the tattoo
Distractions
Tiggy will accommodate you in any way she can.
If you need someone to chat to, she will happily talk about anything. Or if you'd rather pop your headphones in or read a book, that's completely fine too.
If you're not feeling well...
Please let us know!
We are here to help!
It seems obvious but we need to know that you're doing okay so we can continue safely with the tattoo process.
Friends + Family
Please try and attend your appointment alone.
In our experience, extra people have proven to be more of a distraction in a detrimental way to both artist and client. Please respect our work place!
